I had to photograph a NYE wedding yesterday, so in order to celebrate the start of 2014 my wife, kids and I went down to the American River confluence tonight to watch the sunset. I have been trying to get a good shot from here for a loooooong time, but the right conditions have never lined up right (low water flow, no wind, clouds in the perfect spot…).
I am still not totally happy with the way this turned out (this is probably one of the hardest places I have ever shot), but it was a great way to start the new year!
